Dyeing guide by project
Here you will find the step-by-step instructions for your chosen dyeing technique.
Preparation
One pack permanently dyes approx. 600 g of fabric in full tone. That is, for example, 1 pair of jeans, 3 towels, 4 T-shirts or 1 bath towel.
To measure the weight of your textiles, you can weigh the dry fabric on a kitchen scale if necessary. Please note: The dyeing will be lighter with more laundry.
The fabric must be clean and stain-free. Please wash out fabric softener, finishes and laundry disinfectants before dyeing.
Put dry, clean fabric in the washing machine / top loader.
Unscrew the cap of the simplicol intensive paint bottle. Cut open the fixing bag exactly at the marked line to create a dosing opening. Place the bottle and the bag directly on the textiles in the drum.
Start the 40 °C easy-care program without prewash.
After dyeing, remove the bottle and bag. Wash the dyed textiles once in the washing machine with detergent according to the laundry label. This will remove any dye residue from the fabric and machine.

Preparation
One pack dyes approx. 300 g of fabric in full tone. This is, for example, 1 skirt, 2 T-shirts or 2 towels. If necessary, weigh the dry fabric on a kitchen scale. Please note: The dye will be lighter with more washing and more intense with less washing.
Important: The fabric must be clean and stain-free. Please wash out fabric softener, finishes and laundry disinfectants before dyeing.
Please wear rubber gloves during the dyeing process.
Pour 6 liters of water at 60 °C into a plastic bowl or bucket (equivalent to 4 liters of boiling water and 2 liters of cold water).
Dissolve the entire contents of the bag of simplicol textile dye expert in the water.
Tip: For silk, add 300 ml vinegar (or 50 ml vinegar essence 25 %).
Now you can give free rein to your creativity. Shibori, ice-dye, ombré – the creative techniques are varied and child’s play. You can find inspiration and detailed instructions in the DIY ideas section.
Immerse the clean fabric well and dye for one hour while stirring.
To fix the color in the long term, it should be treated with the simplicol color fixer. Rinse the textiles well after dyeing.
Add 1 bottle of color fixer to 8 liters of cold water. Place the dyed garment in the fixer bath for 15 minutes, moving the fabric regularly. Rinse well.
Tip: For particularly brilliant and long-lasting color results, repeat the fixing process after a few washes if necessary.
Then wash the textile in the washing machine at max. 40 °C in the delicate wash program with mild detergent.
